I’m not your typical attorney. I don’t come from “high society.” I was born in the Midwest and raised in a family of welders, mechanics, roughnecks, and farmers. I’m the first person in my family tree to become a lawyer. I didn’t have any “connections” to help be get through law school or help me land my first law firm job. I got to where I am today through sheer hard work and proving myself, day in and day out. Just like most of my clients.
Before becoming an attorney, I worked a variety of jobs including as a commercial roofer, a forklift operator, and a factory worker at the same automobile assembly plant where my dad worked for 28 years. And I know from firsthand experience that workers sometimes get a raw deal when their employers don’t follow the rules. That’s why I chose to focus my practice on worker’s rights.
I have always respected and admired those who work tirelessly to make a better life for themselves and their families. I have represented workers my entire legal career. I have tried cases before juries and recently obtained a judgment over $1,000,000 in an age discrimination case. Before that, I obtained a $13,000,000 jury verdict for a bakery worker who was defrauded by a trade school. I have argued cases before state and federal appellate courts including a state supreme court.

I obtained my Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Truman State University. I am a member of various professional associations, including the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and the American Association for Justice.
I am happily married to my high school sweetheart. Outside of the office, I enjoy watching my kids grow up faster than I’d like, traveling to new places with my family, going to concerts with my wife, and taking my old yellow lab on the occasional outdoor adventure.
